Fishing & Wildlife
Fishing
Utah Valley water offers brown trout fishing, as well as rainbow trout, whitefish, and cutthroat. Most of the fishing in Utah Valley is catch-and-release, with a two-fish limit in some areas. Be sure to stop by a sporting goods store to pick up a Utah Fishing Proclamation & Information and a Utah State Fishing License (required for anglers older than 12). For info on great fishing spots, check out our fishing blog.
Wildlife
Among the natural beauty of the surrounding Wasatch Mountains you might spot a Desert Bighorn Sheep, Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep, Rocky Mountain Goat, or Mule Deer, among other beautiful creatures in Utah Valley. Additionally, there are places you can experience animals even closer, which you can learn about in our animals blog.
Hunting
With a wide array of wildlife, Utah guarantees a hunter’s paradise, with animals from deer, elk, and antelope to ducks, geese, turkeys and rabbits. Information on hunting season is given in January for big game hunting and then in August for small game hunting. Utah hunting licenses can be found at Utah Division of Wildlife Resources' website.
